sunday snaps! + rabbit rabbit
happy sunday friends! i'm enjoying this beautiful day from a blanket in my front yard as i write this. it was a great, busy week for chelsea and i. her schedule is becoming more and more packed as wedding season jumps into full swing. i'm getting a little busier at the salon and enjoying my days off by exploring new and old favorite places, as it's staying lighter outside later and later!
today is june 1st. if you are related to me or a very close friend, you know how important the first day of every month is. rabbit rabbit. does anyone else play rabbit rabbit? since i was a kid, every first day of every month, my family would play the game of seeing who can say "rabbit rabbit" to each other first. yup, that's the game. if you "got" the other person, you didn't win anything, just the satisfaction of winning i guess. we would wake up, and the first thing we would do is find everyone in the house, try to sneak up on them and say it first. if i "got" everyone in the family, it was like winning the olympics. [well, kinda]
as kids, my dad would find every possible way to "get" us. i remember notes being left on the stairs with drawings of rabbits and RABBIT RABBIT written them when i got up in the morning. this was before texting too of course. as i grew up, i told my friends about the game and i would then receive texts from people who i personally never even told the game about at midnight on the first of the month. technology improved, the game got easier for my dad to win [he wasn't the best 'loser' and declared he quit the game on many, many occasions] because he doesn't have to stay up to text us at midnight, but sets his phone on a timer to send them for him. to this day, i continue to play! [and win ;)]
if you've heard about this game, or know the origins of it, let me know! i'd love to hear your rabbit rabbit history and victories.
i hope you all have a wonderful week full of sunshine and the good things in life.
