make-up monday: simple cat eye

winged eyeliner is a classic look that truly anyone can pull off. i used to think my eye shape wouldn't allow me to rock the cat eye, but with practice and the right products i managed to find the right method that works for me! don't be discouraged if you can't get it right the first time! the most you practice, the easier it gets!

this tutorial is really simple, and kind of self explanatory, but i'll share a few of my tips with you!

step by step --

1 // start with a light, matte shadow over lid. that's what i prefer with bold liner!
2 & 3 //  draw a line, doesn't have to be perfect, starting about 3/4 of the way away from the inner corner to almost the outer corner of your eye. depending on your eye shape, if you bring this line to the outer corner, it can draw your eye shape down and make them appear 'droopy' and you'll have a harder time bringing the flick upward.
4 // imagine a line coming from tip of your eyebrow to the corner your eye. that will be your guide for where the wing should go. this is also where you can make your flick as dramatic as you'd like. connect the first line and draw it up toward the corner of your eyebrow as far as you'd like your wing to be. start small, you can always add more!
5 & 6 // play with the shape, thicken and smooth out your line, and fill in empty spaces. i usually go back into the inner corner and connect with a very thin line so there are no gaps.
7 & 8 // add a light, matte brown shadow into your crease for definition and you cannot forget lots of mascara!

aaaand that's it!

the eyeliner i used here is the almay liquid liner in 221 black.
+ if you missed my post on how i do my eyebrows, ---> here <--- it is!

remember: your wings are just like your eyebrows-- sisters, not twins! they don't have to be identical, just try to make them similar and even!
of course, this again gets easier the more you practice :)
